Presto Kitchen Kettle
The Rice Cooker has been my go to appliance in the truck when I want to do more then warm up food. Over the years I have baked in the Rice Cooker, I have washed dishes in the Rice Cooker, and I have been able to prepare some pretty nice meals.
The Rice Cooker was not meant to do all of the above and sometimes it takes a little ingenuity to get the Rice Cooker to perform to my expectations. It has never failed the test in all of these years. I went so far as to take out the trusty slow cooker for the simple reason it was to slow! I did not have all day to cook a meal and to smell a meal cooking in such a small area for hours at a time became miserable.
Some one posted on Expediters Online about the Presto Kitchen Kettle and after reading more about the Kettle I have purchased one. The Kettle was purchased for $28.92 at Walmart. My initial concerns is that the outside of the Kettle will get hot so extra care will have to be given that the sides do not touch anything. I did not have that trouble with the Rice Cooker.
The nicest feature of the Presto Kitchen Kettle is the ability to control the temperature of the Kettle while the food cooks. The Rice Cooker had On or Warm and sometimes I needed a Middle temperature setting.
We will be getting back on the road today and I am leaving my trusty Rice Cooker at home. I know we will be back by the house within a couple weeks and I can make anything work until that point. I hope that I have great things to report on the Presto Kitchen Kettle!
