We picked the truck up in Fort Wayne, IN after a morning-spent learning about our new ONAN hybrid generator and going over the truck one last time.   The generator is amazing and I cannot wait to see how it works out on the road.   The ONAN is set to automatic and I was amazed when I made my coffee in the morning and the generator did not start.   The Cascadia has four AGM batteries that is utilizes for cranking power as well as for the sleeper.

Driving the truck back to Saint Louis was exciting and I enjoyed every minute of the experience.   I was very excited watching the dash instant readout on our fuel mileage.   I was so excited I missed my turn to get on I-69 going south to Indianapolis.   The highest average on the dash readout was 12.88 and if the truck runs true to form the readout is a couple tenths higher than the actual fuel mileage will be.

We dropped the truck off at Craftsmen Industries in Saint Louis to have our toolboxes installed as well as our placard holders.   We will have removable placard holders on the four sides of the truck.   When we are not under a placarded load the placards will be stowed away and not cause any drag.

We are also having some repairs done to our lift gate.   Craftsmen originally installed our lift gate several years ago and have the ability to weld on aluminum.   On our old truck the lift gate had been notched to clear the dock bumper pads as well as door latches.   On the new box we do not need these notches and they will be filled in.   One less thing for our pallet jack the wheels stuck in.

Once we get the truck back Bob will load all of our freight handling equipment and we will be ready for a load.   We will continue to add and organize the rest of our stuff while out on the road.
