Overdrive’s Pride and Polish was the first truck beauty show to be held during a truck show in 1990.   Bob attended his first Pride and Polish in 1998 with a truck he had helping to build and maintain for several years before the owner decided to enter a show.   The truck was a working oil field truck used to haul pipe in and out of rigs and also to haul storage tanks.   They had so much fun at the first show they entered the truck in a second show and that is when I went along to help.

What an eye opener the Pride and Polish shows were to us from the oil fields as we were used to off road trucks.   We were able to spend time with truck owner operators and teams and learn more about the world of long haul trucking….   That is when the bug bit us that when our youngest daughter graduated high school we were going into trucking….   The rest is history.

We are now entering our truck in the Pride and Polish truck beauty contest and while this truck is vastly different than the first truck we helped with back in 1999.   The Caffcadia is a working business truck spec’d for fuel economy and making money that goes to the bank.   While traveling on our last load before heading to Dallas we stopped in Arizona and had the storage boxes polished which will make it a lot easier for Bob to touch them up before the show.   Other than that the truck will be shown exactly as is….

We are entering the truck in the working class division “other” as there is not a class for expediters and we are also entering the sleeper.   The combination will show well and it is a truck that is practical and one that many people can see themselves driving and making money with.
