Our Temporary Ride

This trucks spec’s is very close to our Cascadia’s spec’s and it is almost easy to forget I am not driving our truck. What I know of the spec’s on this truck is HP 410 with the rear end gear ratio of 3.21.   The truck has one drive axle with duel tires and no lift gate.    The truck also has one belly box and a Thermo King Generator.

The truck has an OEM sleeper and is only 38’ long and when backing I am still stopping a couple feet short of my destination.   Bob added a small red LED light to the lower rear side corners of our truck and we quickly figured out how much we miss them.   Bob added these to this truck and at night it makes it much easier to pass people and to position the truck for backing.

The truck rides a little rougher then ours probably due to the shorter length and the dual tires.    The additional HP is noticeable which surprised me a little.   Our truck has a HP of 370 and it takes off a little slower.   We have found ourselves using this additional HP to take off a little quicker, which is not good for fuel mileage.

I am a firm believe in spreadsheets and I have started one on this truck to see what kind of fuel mileage we can get.   The first couple of fill-ups have been great and after a few more I will share the numbers.

The Cascadia as far as I am concerned will be a good fit for Expediter Services as the sleeper is roomy.   A team will have no trouble fitting in this truck and staying out of each other’s space.    While the truck rides a little rougher then ours I know it rides better they our personal vehicles at home.   The fuel mileage is phenomenal and at this point it appears the truck will get over 600 miles to a gallon of DEF.   I know when we are done with this truck and another team moves in they are going to really enjoy staying out on the road for extended periods of time due to the spaciousness of the sleeper and the ease of driving the Cascadia.
