Newborn Truck Stop

The Newborn Truck Stop is located in Georgia on I20, Exit 5, and has a huge very nicely paved parking lot.   A paved parking lot is always a bonus on a long weekend when we are spending time cleaning up our truck.   The first thing I look for on the weekend is washing machines and the truck stop had them at a reasonable price of $1.50.   I was disappointed as there was not a bar to hang my clothes up on as I pulled them out of the dryers.   This usually means I will have to spend some time ironing.

We also tried out the showers which were reasonable priced at $5.00 and were clean and nice.   We did not have to wait in line for a shower and were readily given extra towels.

The lot is huge and the parking spots have almost enough for two trucks to fit in.   Bob was able to polish on the truck and not have a neighbor.   The bad part of this is that he also did not have the shade the big trucks provide.

The lot is well lit so we were able to walk in the evening when the weather cooled off.    The weather has been great while we are here and we have been able to leave the windows and vents open.

The restaurant is called Old Time Country Kitchen and I think has even old time prices and service.   One of their featured items is the homemade Banana Banana Pudding and it is excellent.   I am also a great fan of fried bologna and this was also on the menu and I sure enjoyed this feature.   We also tried out the Fried Green Tomatoes and these were pretty good.

We would highly recommend this truck stop to just drop in and see or to spend the weekend.
