Before getting back on the road we stocked up on Molly’s prescription food and her medicine.   Molly enjoys her food and she especially enjoys treats, as her kidneys are failing we have had to change her treats.   She is now to the point that there are not any treats we can purchase that are good for her.

The vet suggested I take one of the cans of dog food she is allowed to have and bake it.   I sliced the dog food up into small pieces and baked it while at home. I froze some and refrigerated the rest.   She likes these treats as well as she has liked any of her treats from before.

Molly was hoping I might give her something better then the carrot

While out on the road her tumor has not been doing well and started bleeding.   While in Portland, OR I called a vets office about two miles from the Jubitz Truck Stop and they said to bring her right in.   She is one of those goofy dogs that enjoys going to the vets office so she was pleased to get all of the attention she was receiving.

The Vet was very concerned about her age and how to take the tumor off of her chest.   They decided to first try a local and if that did not work to put her under.   Audrey the vet explained that is was going to be risky either way due to Molly’s age and her other problems.

We were all lucky as the vet was able to cut the tumor off of Molly by using a local, which will greatly benefit her recovery.   While waiting for word my feelings have been all over the place.   I have remembered back to when Molly first came to live with us.   The girls were both still in high school and our house was the meeting place for many of the kids.   Molly showed her true personality, as all guests were welcome in her house and the more the merrier.

Molly is an amazing dog and she takes everything in stride.   She firmly believes all people are good and all people LIKE dogs.   Molly has always been a pretty polite dog, she does not bark, she does not lick, and she has never jumped on people.   She likes to be in the company of people and she does not much care to share that space with other animals.

Molly does not like to wear her shoes!

We feel as if we have cleared one more hurtle with Molly and she is here to stay with us a little longer….
