Meaning of Christmas
I have been aware of a group called Trucker Charity and know many of the members, but have not been involved except to give small donations. During Christmas they start a special Christmas Group.
The group starts raising funds towards the end of November with the support of Kevin & Leesa Rutherford, from the radio show Business and Beyond. The group accepts applications for a truck driver who needs a little help. The recipients must hold a valid CDL.
I think this is the 4th year for the group and I believe they give to ten families and depending on how much they raise to how much they give. This year they were able to give each family $700.00 dollars.
I was lucky enough to be included on one of their calls this year and I had to pull over and stop as the tears were rolling down my face. The heartfelt thanks that came across on the phone made my Christmas and reminded me of the true meaning of giving.
Some of my facts could be a little off as I am going off of what I understand about the group and their function. I believe all the donations are tax deductible. One fact I know from the bottom of my heart they bring joy and hope to several families at Christmas and throughout the year. My hat is off to you guys keep up the good work.
