Kudos to a DOT Officer

We were under a load where the customer has the option of performing an inspection of our truck, our paperwork and us.   We received a call from our company asking us to pull over at the next safe area to do so.   We opted for the TA truck stop just past the scale on the westbound side of I-70 in Foristell, MO.   The scale was open and as I pulled in the car followed me.   I was given the signal to go into the lane to scale and the car following stayed in the by pass lane and paced me as I approached the scale.   As I pulled onto the scale I was given the red light to stop and the car then went on and parked near the ramp waiting for me.

I sat on the scale for a bit wondering what was wrong, as my weight was fine and I knew we had just checked all of our lights.   My heart was skipping a beat wondering what in the world they could be looking at and pretty soon Officer Jeff came out and knocked on my passenger window, which I rolled down.   The officer asked me if everything was all right as I had a car following me that looked suspicious.   I told him that we knew who they were and after he asked me a few more questions to verify all was well.   He next told me he was getting ready to pull me into the inspection day and the other officers were going to go have a chat with the driver of the car.

I once again reassured Officer Jeff that all was find and then I thanked Jeff for his attention to detail and for looking out for my welfare.   I also thanked him for making my day as I pulled off the scale with a very good feeling knowing the scale personnel are not only looking for defects on our truck they are also watching out to make sure we are safe.

As soon as possible I sent an email to the officers superior letting him know how much I appreciated this officers attention to detail. Missouri DOT Officer Jeff really made my day and his efforts were appreciated.
