It's a Team's Life

It is an honor to search your truck!

We pulled into the area and started our routine, which is to flip the lights on inside the sleeper, and than proceed to open all of the tool box doors and open the hood.   I gather Molly up and step to the side as Bob shows the security guards our ID's and truck paperwork.

I am always amazed at the different procedures on each base.   Some bases do not mind Molly sitting on the bed looking at them and others treat Molly as a vicious creature.   Some of the bases give a cursory inspection and others probe around.   We have never had any of the guards tamper with our belonging or not treat our truck with respect.

Most of the guards are friendly and professional.   Every once in awhile we run into one that is on a power surge, but really these guys are few and far between.   Most of the guards are friendly and many ask us questions about our truck and what we do.

When we pulled, onto this base, these people were impressed with our truck and with the way Bob letters our tires.   One of the young men climbed inside the sleeper and looked through our cabinets and refrigerator.   As he got out he said to the other guard “That was an honor to search that truck! That was the nicest truck I have searched and I have been doing this every day for awhile!”   It was nice to hear those words on a truck that has 800,000 miles on the odometer.
