We have been doing a bit of mountain driving lately and there are a lot of pull-offs for cars, very short paved areas.  When there is a long enough pull off for us to safely move over for the faster vehicles to pass us we do.  Often as the cars go by they give a couple of quick toots of their horns as they go by.  

Often when we flash our clearance lights for a truck to come back over the driver will flash their light thanking us.  We have had drivers of cars stick their arms out the window and give us a friendly wave. 

It is wonderful how good a friendly wave makes us feel good and brings a smile to our faces.
