Home Time Finally

It is like a mad house when we arrive home and often just as crazy when we leave…

The first thing we do when the brakes are pulled on the Cascadia is unload the truck.   This means all the laundry, computers, refrigerator food, file box, and this time all of our summer clothes.

Once everything is in the house the washing machine gets started and the refrigerator food is moved to the refrigerator in the house.   The receipts are filed away and then it is time to go through the myriad of mail that is always waiting.    Most of the first day is spent running from upstairs to the office in the basement and by the end of the day exhaustion has set in.

The goal is to get everything washed and sent back out to the truck and get it out of the way.   While I am trying to get all of this done Bob is anxious to get the truck moved to the shop so he can start on his list of projects.   The more I can get into the house, washed, and returned to the truck the less running back and forth to the truck parked at the shop I have to do.

When we bought this house and property it was with the intention of having our truck at home with us.   I can only imagine how hard all of this process would be if our truck was parked several miles away.   When Bob and I were in the US Xpress  we were also able to park the truck and trailer in the driveway of our house in Kansas so we have never experience a truck parked a distance away.

Once I finally get the laundry done, papers filed, clothes ironed and returned to the truck I can relax and start on house projects as well as fun time away from the truck. One thing I enjoy when at home is going to the gym which I will do several times.   We also have plans to take our truck to meet our Trucker Buddy class for the first time in person.

Before we know it the time will come to put the file box back in the truck, load the refrigerator and wait for the phone call telling us where to go next!
