We have decided to enter the Caffcadia in the Pride and Polish show truck competition.   The truck will be entered in the working class other and the sleeper class.   There is not a division for Expedites but who knows in the future this might need to change! We are excited about this and at the same time intimidated as the truck is going to be shown as is with no changes made to the truck just for the show.

The Trucking Solutions Group will be working with the American Red Cross to hold a blood drive all three days of the show.   This is the first time that a blood drive will be held all days of the show and this came about due to the enormous response we had last year at GATS.   Many show attendees found this a good way to get off of their feet and do something for the community at the same time.    Blood cannot be manufactured and less than 38% of the population can donate blood so there seems to always be a shortage.

There is also a Driver Health Walk sponsored by the Trucking Solutions Driver Health Council on Friday morning with doors opening in room D 168 at 8:00 am and the walk will be held inside the convention center at 9:00.   The fun walk is 1.5 miles and will once again feature a “Walk and Talk”.   Joe Rajkovacz and Homer Hogg are two of the participants walking and I cannot wait to pick their brains.   Both of these guys are great teachers and when in their presence I try to soak up as much information as possible.   Other walkers include Richard Deforrest from ATBS, Joyce Brenny, Brenny Transport and OOIDA representatives.  We are once again teaming up with TA-Petro and will have goody bags and t-shirts until supplies run out to give walk attendees.

Women in Trucking will celebrate their 5th year with a Birthday party extravaganza!   There will be balloons, birthday cake, chocolate fountain, beverages and a clown.   The party will be held Friday room D171 at 5:00 with more details to be had by stopping by the Women In Trucking Booth 25008.   To learn more about Women in Trucking visit their website WIT
