Goals for 2011

Our business will be purchasing a new truck in 2011.  This will change our lifestyle some as I do not like payments and my first goal will be to pay the truck off.  We will crunch our numbers even harder to stretch our dollars as far as possible.  One of my goals is to not eat out unless we have a coupon for the meal or it is a special occasion and we are dining with friends.  

The truck should get better fuel mileage then our present truck and we will be testing the limits on this from the first mile the truck runs.  The truck will be a Cascadia and will all ready be aerodynamic so we will not be modifying the truck much.  We will be moving our present lift gate and tag axle to the new truck, which will save us several thousand dollars.

In our personal lives we will continue to improve our health and get down to our ideal weight.  I have a plan and goal for this endeavor also.  We will continue to learn more about nutrition through the various groups we are involved with, we will continue to walk, and we will be learning more about using resistance bands within the truck.

We will continue to further our education through The Trucking Solutions Group and TSG Driver Health Council.  Through these two groups we are able to stay on top of current issues and also to learn more about our business and health.  We are laying the groundwork to continue to sponsor Driver Health walks at the various truck shows, sponsor a new event at MATS and to have a workshop at the Great West Truck Show in Dallas.

We will continue to be involved with the Expeditor Now workshops and also with the Expedite Expo.  Through the workshops presentations I will learn to build better presentations and Bob and I will learn to speak more professionally in front of large groups.  This is an area Bob and I both enjoy as we like working with new people looking at getting into the industry.

I am sure we will have a busy year and we will make the most of opportunities that are presented to us.
