Fun Words

There are few words lately that I have enjoyed and one was capitulate which means to give in.   Not something I do often, as I like to argue.   Another word I enjoy is plethora, which I use as often as I can, as it is fun to say.   I enjoy having a plethora of books to read in the truck.   Another word that caused a lengthy discussion was abhor which I found out I was not very clear on when I used this in a sentence as one reader could not figure out what I meant.   I abhor discourteous people.

A friend and I go round and round with words and often end up with sentences that only make sense to us.    He barely graduated school and I am a high school drop out who hated English while I was in school and find it highly amusing how much we have with words.   I have often thought with the right attitude how much fun I could have had in school instead of fighting school and teachers all the way through.

We have a lot of time as drivers to spend improving ourselves and our vocabulary while driving down the road or waiting for that next load.   I have found that the school of hard knocks has given me plenty of common sense, but I need a lot of work on refinement of my actions.   This is an up hill battle, but one I am enjoying.   I have found that it helps to have a friend in the same predicament and that we can both learn from each other.
