I attended the First Observer Class at the Expedite Expo.   Terry Barrett and Doug Morris were the instructors and the hour flew by.

Terry and Doug went through the Oklahoma City Bombing with Timothy McVeigh and how many times he was seen and no one said a word or they did report him and all was ignored.    There was over 14 times when the links in the chain could have been broken.   There were a myriad of ways his mission could have been thwarted.   One unfortunate side tragedy was the UPS man who saw Timothy McVeigh stop the Ryder Van and get out and run away.   The fuse had all ready been lit and there was nothing he could have done about this situation but the UPS man still took his own life a few months later.

We discussed why 911 is not the only answer to this problem.   An example was given about a white pickup that was seen in several places around the country taking pictures of bridges.   If someone had only called 911 there would have not been a pattern discovered about this pickups behavior.

I enjoyed the class and would like to thank Terry and Doug for sharing the information with those of us in attendance.
