FIDO

FIDO is something we all need to practice but for those that make their career driving in traffic everyday, it is a must.

FIDO - Forget It Drive On

How simple is that concept?  My pet peeve that would irritate me and I would do everything in my power to keep from happening was other drivers jumping in front of me when I had spent a long time in a construction zone.  These people drive on the shoulders or get off at an exit ramp and get back on so they can get even further ahead cutting their way into the line. Finally, one day I was talking to a friend about this irritation and he had read a study about this phenomenon and he said it really doesn't change your sitting time that much.  I thought about that a while and the next day I got into the same situation and I did not fuss over people cutting in and I traveled along with the traffic. When I got out of the construction I did so without the stress and knotted neck muscles as I had not been fighting off the line cutters.

Everyday people cut us off as they rush from the fast lane over to exit just about taking off our bumper.  Is it frustrating, YES but we did the right thing we did not hit them or allow them to hit us so now it is time to drive on.

When we are looking for an address and traveling slower we will at times have cars pass us sometimes waving their fingers at us, gunning their motors as they go by, or at times honking.  We wave back using all of our fingers and continue to look for our address as they hurry off to their stressful life.

The more we can use FIDO in our life just like the real-life fido that we pet the less tense we will be.
