FedEx Custom Critical 4-Star Award
The requirements have changed somewhat over the years, but the event is still a safety award. The requirements include on-time service, accident free driving, availability, and making a minimum number of runs. There is now another requirement of no moving violations involving CSA points.
Our first 4-Star event was in the Bahamas and we were still wet behind the ears. I still remember getting the call, where we were, the feeling of incredibility, the excitement and how proud we were to have achieved 4-Star. We had a great time going to the Bahamas, but we had an even better time meeting more of the FedEx Custom Critical employees.
In the Bahamas we made friends with several other contractors we are still in touch with. This was my first experience and probably my last at snorkeling in the ocean… It was fun to see the ocean this way but I am a landlubber unless on a fast boat or with a fishing pole in my hand.
The next 4-Star was in Las Vegas and many of the same friends we made in the Bahamas also qualified for this event. We decided we would take advantage of this opportunity to see what we could see. The highlight was a helicopter tour with a few other contractors of the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon. Once again this was an experience we will never forget.
Then we qualified once again for the trip to Naples, FL and a stay on the beach. This time we took a day tour on a Catamaran and had a picnic lunch on an island. What an amazing day this was and something that we really enjoyed. Bob and I are not really beach people, but seeing the sun set on the ocean was spectacular. This was going to be our last 4-Star for a few years.
This year we were totally shocked to receive the call once again that we had qualified. This year the trip is to Disney World and someplace we have always wanted to go but have not made it happen. I am a confirmed Disney nut, I am a collector of Disney memorabilia, read everything and anything on Walt Disney and Disneyland, and have vacationed at Disneyland often as a child and as an adult. We are looking forward to two days in the Disney World parks and one day to wander around down town Disney and the great beach area of our hotel., the Yacht Club.
The FedEx Custom Critical 4-Star event is not something that
we strive to achieve and is always a shock when we receive the call.
We are thankful to be going on this trip
and we look forward to creating memories.
