Favorite Reason to Attend the Expedite Expo
One of the most influential people we met at our first Expo was Terry O'Connell who was a FedEx Custom Critical van driver at the time. Terry had a very informative workshop introducing all of us newbies on what to expect in Expediting.
We are still friends with drivers we met from our first Expo seven years ago and we are still making new friends during the subsequent Expedite Expos. We are still learning and we are still having fun.
We learned from our very first Expo that BBQ’s and sitting around talking are what makes this adventure we are on memorable. One of the first ladies we met was Susie who had her camper at the Detroiter and each morning she had breakfast under the canopy. We all worked on one of the trucks that was entered in the truck show and had a blast. We worked, talked and laughed all day as we prepared that beautified that truck! Susie will once again be at this Expedite Expo still cooking away.
Jeannie we met the same way she was cooking and I was eating… Jeannie is pretty good about telling me what to do and how to do it especially when she figured out I will do about anything to keep from cooking. Jeannie will also be at the Expo organizing the Drivers BBQ.
This common theme of cooking and eating has grown from a few drivers to a huge crowd and all of can benefit from others experiences. Our circle of friends has grown from only knowing a couple of people to knowing many who we look forward to seeing this year.
We have added vendors to our list of people we look forward to visiting with and this year a bunch of them will have a booth during the Expo.
Two of our favorite people we look forward to seeing each year is Lawrence and Debbie McCord who make the Expo happen. Through them and their efforts we credit them for us being in Expediting. We have enjoyed getting to know Lawrence and Debbie through the years and feel lucky to include them among our many friends in expediting.
