Timing was off and sleep mattered more to me than a shower.   Bob was able to take a shower during one of our stops for fuel, as we were switching drivers.   I was not so lucky and I knew we were going to be in a safe haven for the weekend.

Most safe havens are a secure area with a chain link fence and a locked gate, which is what we were prepared for.   When we pulled on base the gate guard told Bob that he thought were we were going to park had restrooms as well as showers.

Bob informed me of this when he got up and I looked around thinking right…   There was a locked building on our driver’s side; another secure area behind us and to the side was what looked to be an abandoned trailer.

Bob looked around and when he looked at the trailer he saw that the ends were marked for men and women.   When we looked in to his surprise there was modern bathrooms with a shower!   We have only been to one other safe haven that had showers so this really was a surprise.

I could not wait to gather my supplies and get under that shower head.   Well I am glad it was not winter and there was not any hot water, but by this point I really did not care.   That shower felt spectacular and I felt rejuvenated and ready to get the truck cleaned up for another week.

The world is full of surprises and we should not judge a building by its exterior!
