We took this load to California with some trepidation.   We needed to be in Michigan in seven days, so the pressure was on.   The load paid too much to turn, down so we took it in hope of getting back east quickly.   We made plans while in California to visit the Nose Cone offices located in Murrieta and meet Kathy Rose.

I was surprised first thing in the morning before we delivered in California with a load opportunity going to the east coast.   The load was very nice and did not pick up till the next day which gave us time to head south and see Kathy.   I accepted the load and lo and behold we got it!   What a pleasant surprise.   We unloaded and headed to the Nose Cone offices.

I have spoken to Kathy several times on the phone and been involved on a conference call with her about  Nose Cone and their products.   Kathy has always impressed us with her knowledge of aerodynamics and also what the company is looking at in the future.   Kathy spent some time with us discussing the non aerodynamic cavities of our truck and ideas to eliminate this on our next truck.   Kathy also showed us several views of trucks in wind tunnels and also a truck in a water tunnel that was very interesting.   It seems the more we learn about aerodynamics the more we realize we need to know.

After meeting with Kathy we headed back up north for our pickup the next morning. We found out some friends of ours were also picking up at the same location, so we made plans to meet them for supper.   I am still amazed at the people we know or run into all over the country.   After supper I went to bed  and set the alarm to go off very early in the morning to prepare for another cross country trip.

We took a southern route which allowed us too get the optimal fuel mileage without to many mountains to climb.   We had enough time on this trip that while one of us was fueling the other was able to go inside and get a shower.   When we are on loads where we cannot both be out of the truck I cook all of our meals so that we are able to eat together.

We made it to our delivery with enough time for both of us to be able to sleep without the truck moving.   We were in a very quiet place with no trucks running, so I was able to leave our windows open.    We ran over the weekend, so now I need to figure out how I can get laundry done!   That darn chore is an ever growing problem.
