Dissapointment

I started to load the refrigerator and noticed that it was making odd surging sounds. We have a Norcold refrigerator and this sound is a sound I hate to say we are familiar with. In the past five years this will make the third compressor that has gone out. Our first one was under the warranty and the next one was out of pocket which was about $1400.00. The worst part is that we not only lose the refrigerator, we lose all of our food. We were lucky this time, since we were at home I could take our food to the freezer here at the house.

Now the refrigerator is at the shop being worked on and we are still at home. This time the refrigerator is less then two years old so we still have warranty. While the warranty is good I would prefer that we had a refrigerator that would not break on us every year and a half. It is expensive for us to replace all of our food and then to have the downtime. So now we wait on the repairs to be made before we can once again get the truck loaded and be back on the road.

We just had an update on our Norcold refrigerator and the part will not be in for two weeks.  Norcold will not over night the part to us even if we pay the shipping. We are on our last Norcold refrigerator as the customer service is not there and the refrigerator is not made well enough to handle living on the road.  We ended up buying a smaller refrigerator at LOWES  and we will use this until we come home next time.  This is not the best solution for us but it will work as long as needed.
