Cleaning out the truck

We are able to do all of this at our home and that has reduced the burden of having to load everything into a car and use a storage facility.   I am determined to sort though everything and decide what would be needed to go back in the truck and what would stay home.   I found items I have not used in the past six years and kept them on the truck because there might become a need, these items will not be going back in the truck.

I was totally amazed as I kept bringing out items I had in the truck as I have piles all over our basement.   I washed all of my appliances and have them stored and ready to go back in the truck.   The new truck will have hot water and I am really looking forward to not having to heat my water to wash dishes.

The storage compartments are totally different in the new truck and I will have to find new ways to get everything back in the truck.   One of the dilemma’s I am having is where to store our dirty clothes.   We have always had under the bed storage and this new truck will not have that area.   We will have a murphy bed and when stored against the wall we will have a table with bench seating.   I plan to ask around and get ideas from other drivers who have similar sleepers where they store their dirty clothes.

Our biggest project has been getting the signs off of the truck.   What a job and one I am still paying for with pain in my wrists.   I have had to go back to wearing a wrist brace at night so my hand does not go to sleep.   This will only last a few days until the swelling goes down.   The signs are off the truck and it looks very forlorn out in the yard.

We have a lot of happy memories with this truck and it will be sad to see it go and at the same time we are thrilled to be starting over in our new truck.   The new 2012 Cascadia will be in the FedEx Custom Critical Booth during the MATS show and I hope everyone will stop by and check it out.
