Cleaning out the old truck…

In six years we accumulated a lot of stuff, some used every day and sadly to say some I do not believe was ever used.   We are lucky as we park the truck at our house and I able to run back and forth dragging stuff in.   Some supplies went to our basement, some supplies went to the kitchen to be washed, some supplies went to the laundry room, and other supplies went to a closet to be hung up until ready to load in the Cascadia.

I was overwhelmed when I saw the piles of equipment on the floor and wondering where in the world I had all of this stuff stored.   Our truck was not cluttered and everything had a place.   I did not realize how many “places” I had…

The Cascadia and the Bolt Sleeper are very different than the M2 and the AA Sleeper and I am not sure where all of this will go back.   I was concerned that we would lose a lot of storage due to not having under the bed storage. When I saw the cabinets in the new sleeper I realized we would probably have more storage.   I will need to use the storage in a different way.   One of the problems I foresee is the cabinets are high and I will spend most of my time on a step stool.   This will be awesome exercise!

The baskets that were used in the other truck will transfer to the new truck and will come in very handy.   The basket can be pulled out and I will be able to get what I need.   Bob and I are looking forward to getting all of our supplies organized and put away.   I am looking forward to putting my placemats on the table I have just finished crocheting.

The sleeper has large windows that are insulated and have shades that can be pulled down to let some light in.    The sleeper compared to our old one looks huge and part of that is due to the fact that the sleeper is much taller than our old one.   Bob about

The box of the truck is about the same size as our last box and we are hoping we will have two foot of storage in the nose.   We were able to carry all of blankets and cargo moving supplies in these two feet of area as well as a few personal items in our old box.   We were able to give the customer their 20’ feet of space easily.

Bob and I found out how hard it is to remove signs that have been on a truck for six years.   We spent a full day removing signs and glue from the truck and box.   Bob had Blue Beacon acid wash the truck and the box to remove the last of the residue.   The box still has slight fading of the FedEx Custom Critical signs, but the new Land Star signs of the new owner will look nice.

We both felt funny to see our old truck drive out of the yard with the new owner grinning and proud, as he could be in the drivers seat.   We have a lot of fond memories of the M2 and all we were able to accomplish.   We plan on making just as many memories with our new truck.
