It's a Team's Life
Cameras
We have four cameras on our truck, one on the passenger
side, one back up camera, and two in the box.
The camera we use the most is our backup camera and every time we put
the truck in reverse we turn the camera system on.
In the past ten years that we have had the cameras we have
no backing incidents and I believe a lot of that is due to our constant use of
this camera.
We also have had a
passenger side camera mounted on the fender and we very seldom use this
camera.
We thought this camera would be
one that would always be left on but we have found that our mirrors do a much
better job and we do not have the distraction of the camera running and something
flashing across the screen constantly.
The cameras inside the box are used to monitor the freight, and are also used to make sure no one is in the box when we pull away from the dock. These cameras have come in very handy when an officer wanted to unseal our truck; he was ok with looking at the cameras and decided everything was secured.
When we are sitting and loaded I often turn on the backup camera to watch our back doors from the comfort of our cab. The cameras are a necessary part of our truck and there will be at least two cameras on our next truck.Bob & Linda Caffee
