It's a Team's Life
Big Joel's Safari
We spent the day visiting Big Joel's farm, which is located in Wright City, MO and is in it first year of business. We met a few members of Big Joel's family that were on the premises to talk about the animals and how they came to live on the farm. Interesting history of how this " We bought a Zoo" happened.
What interested me was the personality of the animals as some were interested in the people and meandered over for attention while others acted as if we were invisible. This Llama was a riot as he has such a angry expression on his face, but he was actually very friendly.
I thought about the animals and how accepting they are of
their lives.
Many of them should have
been born wild and learned to survive by their skills.
None of the animals that we saw were in a
state of agitation they were all content with their lot in life and many of
them were making the best of it.
They
knew the humans were bringing them treats and also wanting to scratch their
itchy places.
These animals reminded me of humans.... Some humans are content each day to get up and go about their lives minding their own business, others are investigating everything and are involved, and others fight and bicker disagreeing with most events throughout their day.
To make it all work out we have to have each of the three
types in our makeup, there are times to sit back and relax, times to get
involved, and at other times to throw a fit.
The secret is to know when is the right time for these reactions....
