It has been a long two months since we have seen our house and we had a long list of “to do’s” which was growing longer and longer.   The truck had a recall that needed to be taken care of and we had several items we wanted to work on inside the truck to make our lives easier.

We also had a few things we wanted to get done at home before winter sets in as we do not plan on home time again till November.   I repacked the truck with our winter clothes while leaving a few summer things inside.   This time of year we can be in freezing temperatures in the morning and needs shorts in the afternoon. When reloading cupboards and refrigerator I loaded a few more fall foods that we like.   That first pot of chili is the best one of the year!

Bob reloaded the truck as well with winter gear.   Winter gloves as well as hats and warm socks.   He also added our slush busters, winter anti gel for the fuel tanks, as well as extra windshield washer.

Once the truck was loaded and all of the to do’s taken care of we were ready for our first load. We spend more time in the truck then we do at home and it felt good when we left to pickup our first load.   The truck runs like a dream and it felt good to be back on the road wondering where the loads will take us.   Our first load was a short over-nighter with a chance to sleep before unloading.

This is typically a busy time of the year for us and we look forward to running hard the rest of the year. Last year we stayed busy in January, which has not been typical, and we hope once again this happens.   I will plan for a slow couple of months just in case….
