It's a Team's Life

American Time

When we are on the road our bodies change to Eastern Time and it is a struggle when we are in Pacific Time as our stomachs and bodies still are working on Eastern Time.   We struggle as we need to go to bed when the sun is up and it feels as if I drive forever before the sun comes up when I am driving.

One of the problems we run into is that many of the truck stops have shut down their restaurants late at night.   I will often go into the restaurant when we are parked and have breakfast and let Bob sleep undisturbed.   I find that when I go into the restaurant at 3:00 local time the restaurant is often closed.   My stomach though and my body is saying it is morning and time to eat and start the day the time zone we are in though is saying to me ”Why in the world are you up so early?”.

After we are on the west coast for awhile slowly we adjust to the time zones and then we get the long load going back east and overnight we have to change back to eastern time zone.   Our bodies have to deal with a couple adjustments one is the bitter cold to having to run the air conditioning in one day and the other is time zones and our bodies have to adjust quickly to these different situations.
