Workin On The Weekend

There was a discussion about a carrier’s level of weekend staffing in dispatch, so I ran some of my weekend numbers for September and October. Of the eight weekends, I was available for seven. One weekend was a Friday pick up with Monday delivery. Four Saturday deliveries. One Saturday to Sunday load. I had no Sunday pick ups, but I did get a Monday load from a Sunday dispatch crew. That tallies up to an average of seven for seven weeks that I had work to do on the weekend or the weekend crew produced something. As a joke I figured out that none of my Wednesdays in September produced freight, so maybe I should be more concerned with how my carrier staffs their office on Wednesdays in September.
