To You or By You

Does it seem like good fortune happens to others while you are always having less than desirable outcomes happen to you? Are these things happening to you or by you?

Some people are their own worst enemy. They always have bad things happening to them (according to them, anyway), rather than owning up to the fact that they played a major part in what happens to them.

When good fortune does come your way, do you think that it happened to you or was it by you? You can affect, to a degree, what outcomes you will receive. How you perceive and react to the situation will greatly affect the outcome. You can make good things happen or you can wait for things to happen to you. When you wait for an outcome, you are not actively participating to ensure the result will be favorable to you. However, if you wait for something to happen to you but I am proactively working to gain favorable results for my business, and if I am your competitor, you have a greater chance of once again “having another bad outcome happen to you”.It didn’t just happen to you, you played a role in the outcome, albeit an absentee role, but a role nonetheless.

You may have heard the saying that “Life is not a spectator sport”, this also applies to business success. Get in the game and achieve greater results for yourself. You will find that when you contribute to your own success, you will yield greater results and then good fortune can “happen” to you more often.

There are people who make things happen, there are people who watch things happen, and there are people who wonder what happened. To be successful, you need to be a person who makes things happen.
