Let's do the timewarp again!

Timewarp

It's just a jump to the left.
And then a step to the right.
With your hand on your hips.
You bring your knees in tight.
But it's the pelvic thrust.
They really drive you insane.
Let's Do The Timewarp Again
Let's Do The Timewarp Again.

There we were traveling across Texas on I-10 on New Year's Eve listening to SiriusXM radio channel 18. We were singing along to all the wildly random songs and having the time of our lives.

And I had the time of my life
And I never felt this way before.
And I swear, it's the truth.
And I owe it all to you...

Oh right, timewarp. Singing. We were having fun. Might as well have some fun since we were stuck driving on this holiday night. While we were somewhere in the middle of Texas, central time zone, the clock struck midnight. But not just any midnight. This was a the midnight of a brand new year! It was the grand bell-tolling of the ringing in of 2016! On this dark and lonely stretch of highway he pulled our new (to us) big Kenworth to the side of the road. Under the big Texas sky I got my New Year's kiss from this tall, goofy, handsome man of mine! What a way to bring in a new year, a fresh start, and all things wonderful.

Let's do the timewarp again.
Didn't I already say that?

Wait! What's happening? It's like some bad Stephen King novel. Some truck driver asphalt wormhole! It's... It's.. MOUNTAIN TIME ZONE.

And just like that we were unceremoniously sucked back in time, right back into 2015!
How RUDE!

And there we were driving down I-10 listening to SiriusXM channel 18 in the middle of no where Texas watching the clock count down to midnight. We didn't know whether to laugh at the comical , or stare in near horror at the hypnotizing white lines while they slid ever so lazily beneath our truck. I wondered if we would ever make it out of 2015? Was this the timewarp? Groundhog's Day? Back to the Future... er the Past? Dr. Evil's final plot for world domination? And if so where were the frikken sharks with frikken laser beams? OMG HALP!

Then the clock struck midnight... again. All was right in the world. Well, at least in our truck. We sang Auld Lang Syne and Kum Ba Ya. (Not Really. But the radio did play Neil Diamond and Barry Manilow.) We waited. We drove. We sang. We watched. We drove some more, because that's what truck drivers do. There were no more wormhole, rubber band snap-back, timewarp experiences. When we woke up this morning we were still firmly planted in the bright shiny and new 2016. So without further ado...

Happy New Year everybody!
