The Weekend Update
Expedite Expo 2015. Two more weeks and the truck show will be over. The organizers probably consider the expo as one week away. For the first time in a few years I plan to arrive at the expo before the doors are closed on Friday afternoon. I'm looking forward to seeing friends old and new.
Promaster test drive that wasn't. I came this close to test driving a Dodge Promaster. Problem that kept me out of the new van was the reason it stopped by. I was planning to pick up some personal freight (new furniture)(for someone else) in Chicago. At the last minute I had a memorial service to attend in Wichita, Kansas. I headed south and the Promaster headed north. I am told the short, short "sprinter-killer" made the St Louis to Chicago round trip at 18 mpg (gasoline) traveling the speed limit.
Stump puller. I ended up in Dallas for the weekend. That usually means household chores. This trip I thinned a couple trees with my Silky pole saw. I couldn't have landed the limb this way if I wanted to. It was 9' 6" long and 7 inches diameter, and it planted itself upright from above 15 feet. Wedged against the sidewalk and leaning towards the street, I couldn't budge it. Pallet pulling strap and e-track d-rings to the rescue. Now I have a very heavy, custom-sized, height clearance pole for the van.
