The Weekend Report

The freight week started in Knoxville, Tennessee and ended in Kansas City with a couple Michigan loads in the mix.

Kansas City Bypass.  Missouri Route 291 is a good way to get past Kansas when transitioning from I-70 to I-35 to the north. It is four lane divided highway for most of the 16 mile route. On a map it might just look like any other off-interstate road. There are traffic lights, but even during rush hour, traffic kept moving. 291 is the north extention of I-470 to the south and meets I-70 at exit 15. The north end is at Liberty, Missouri exit 16, I-35. There is a Walmart near both ends, plus a Sam’s Club at the I-70 end.

Bunk 4.2X.  I did more work on the bunk this weekend. I moved the fold up section, so it is hinged from the driver side. I ran out of long pieces of 8020 extrusion, so I temporarily hacked together spare pieces. I ordered the parts for the final construction. 4.2 is much sturdier than 4.1. 4.2 also creates a little extra storage space on the driver side wall. This is the last major upgrade to the bunk until my next vehicle.

ArtPrize 2013. I swung through Grand Rapids this week but didn’t have a chance to see any of the show. I still have another week to make it there.
