Still In Texas

I'm not really that far south.

A little over a week ago I came down to Texas with a decent load. Getting out of Texas with respect is always difficult which makes coming to Texas a gamble. I’m still willing to play the game. I came into the state to deliver on the 4th of July (a Friday), but that load didn’t get off loaded until the following Monday. Sitting on the freight qualified for layover pay which helped remove some of the sting of being stuck with freight over the weekend. From San Antonio my sights were set on getting out of the state. Instead, on Wednesday I was heading farther south with a load from Austin to McAllen. It might take some time getting out of McAllen, but what I like about being this far south is that any load out will have that many more miles involved. It’s also not as piled up with vans as in Laredo.
