Fuel for Thought
OOS, Spring Cleaning
The record setting month of March didn’t give me much time for housekeeping, so as usual I use the early parts of the month or better yet the early part of the quarter to take a few days off to catch up. Rolling into my final parking place my check engine and windshield washer fluid lights were on, engine and differential oil were due, and two months of road salt was ready for removal. And I think some of the body rust is going to be ground to bare metal. So don’t ask me how (or why) I ended up building a couple bee hives. The photo shows my progress. They are horizonal top bar hives. The short one is a bait hive for attracting feral bees, and it is finished. The long hive is a permanent home for bees and only needs the rest of the top bars cut, and it will be ready for bees. I don’t know why I’m doing it…I don’t even have a place to set up a beeyard.
