Fuel for Thought
Happy Thanksgiving
I arrived in Lindsay, Nebraska yesterday morning greeted by a crisp 7 degrees. After the Rocky Ford, Colorado delivery, I moved down to Amarillo, Texas thinking if nothing came up I would make my way to Dallas for Thanksgiving and jury duty. Amarillo turned into Lindsay, Nebraska. I camped out in York, because it is on the interstate and on a direct line to Dallas if I have to make the dreaded, long haul deadhead to meet the jury duty obligation.
Amarillo was a constructive stop. Good news for the vanner who fuels at gas stations, it seems that diesel prices are cheaper on the west side of town. So fuel up when you are on the westside looking for the Rudy’s BBQ (the worst bbq in Texas)(at least that’s what their sign says). The Donut Stop has good donuts. They are melt-in-your-mouth soft on the first day and turn into more of a cake donut after that. Donut Stop is a local franchise with several Amarillo locations.
While I was still in Colorado I read Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims by Rush Limbaugh. It should make a good gift for young people. It is an entertaining read of a real topic. I ordered several copies for gifts.
