You can’t make a sign more clear than this, and the best part is that the sign really means exactly what it says. This sign involved waiting thirty minutes for clearance to proceed, but it worked exactly as posted. The problem comes from the fact that the other identical sign means something completely different. The security officer explained, after finding me waiting for clearance at the second identical sign, that at that sign I should come to a full stop and then proceed to the guard shack, because the security officer couldn’t see a vehicle stopped at that sign. I made very little progress in explaining that it is difficult to remember the alternate meaning of posted signs at the hundreds of facilities I visit each year.
