Other than driving a Ford Crown Victoria back in you're Canadian cabbie days, have you even owned a Ford product for expediting, or otherwise? Unless you can match the dependability and low cost of operation of a Ford, don't knock one...How long has you're properly maintained Sprinter transmission lasted before taking a dump in Dallas? And how much was that?? My Ford went 503,000 un-maintained miles, and was still working fine, when I pulled it into my friends shop to install a new reman Ford transmission for $2,400 out the door, and $200.00 labor, 3 year unlimited mileage nationwide warranty from Ford...Engine still running strong as can be..
easy Dave...just poking some fun....:)
i also owned a MANUAL old Escort as a winter beater back in the day....

Did a load this morning from Macomb, Mi to Chicago, IL. On the way to Chicago was preplaned with a load picking up in Elk Grove Village, IL to Minneapolis, MN for the morning. Sure hate that when that happens.
be careful we might just bumped together...:p

That's all it cost me on my Sprinter. Same miles, preventative swap, running strong ;)

Let's see...last week was best revenue week for me in 2 years, 2700 loaded miles, 450 paid d/h, and 2 shorties, one paid $350 for 38 miles, other paid $150 for 120 miles, and was home from 11pm on 3rd until 5 am on 5th.

Delivered Highland Park, MI...got oil changed/tires Rotated and then picked up Rochester Hills, MI to Indianapolis, IN and drove home. 525 loaded so far this week. Taking 5 or 6 days off later this week.

I've always thought expediters parking next to the building at the truck stop for extended periods was not in good taste. This one beats that.

Some good paychecks, various local runs and some expedite, lots of home time.

Had some issues with my self repaired tire, losing 40 psi an hour... 5 times filling it up and I got sick of it, pulled over and stuffed 2 plugs in it beside an air pump. No gasket in nozzle! Kept my head and found a rubber round gasket on the ground, rebuilt their air pump for them. No leaks, still driving on it.

Did try the spare, no tools so factory wrench...got 2 loose then this

I've been around the block before so I had just cracked the nuts, the 400 miles home to my torque wrench, no issues.

Man that sure looks like a knuckle buster. Nothing like carrying a good set of tools, Breaker bar, wheel socket and a good quality 4 way wheel wrench. With tools quality goes a long ways.
As far as those mirriors, I imagine ya do get a real good view as that tire starts to pass ya up. :D
Glad ya got it home intact.

Been in Las Vegas since Sunday. Getting paid to be here but tired of being here, sin city just isn't my cup of tea. Going to my shipper Monday morning and wait for my load out then I head off to Dallas to sit again until the 21st. Gonna be reminiscent of my expediter days with all this sitting around lol. But now I'm being paid salary to sit and my truck has an APU which is pretty much the best thing since sliced bread
