In the future you wont see any more FedEx C. C. "Showboats". At least not with the FedEx logo. They wont even allow a bumper sticker, and annual photos of proof will be required.

I am curious about this. Could you say more?

When we were with the company, the rules for straight trucks required us to display the FedEx Custom Critcial name and DOT number on the doors. If we wanted also to display the big FedEx Custom Critical logo on the truck body (box), the rules required the body to be white with no other markings. Anything displayed on the truck ahead of the truck body was OK as long as it was in good taste.

Have the rules changed?

SO no ooida stickers?

What's up with their trucks hauling trailers with Teamster's stickers on the back.

I wonder when people will get that it isn't FedEx's truck.

Re-branding has changed everything. You have the option of running with what the DOT requires. Or adhering to the rules I stated.

First and foremost...a tool to create as much income as possible, in the shortest amount of time...to maximize load opportunities.....creature comforts should be further down the list of priorities...IMO

Fed's new policy. No stripes, graphics, stickers. If you make it look like a company unit they will pay you $1000 per year. You are not forced to do it. If your individuality is worth $1000 per year to you that's your choice. I'll take the $5000 spread over the next five years. They probably could have made it a requirement but chose to leave it optional. They are paying to pull logos off body. If there is shadowing they are paying to wrap the box. Seems totally reasonable to me.

If that's the case, why don't you drive a big rig with a coffin sleeper?

you maybe jumping a bit ahead of my thinking Phil...I am not saying creature comforts should be dismissed at all...but IMO..if I were to invest good money in a truck....I'd want to maximize it load potential first and foremost...and try to balance out what I personally need... but in the end it all comes down to the individual does it not?....

Well, while I don't agree to a carrier sticking their nose in what is on a truck or what color it is, it is their choice to do so. Me, I like a nice looking functional truck. Not to big not to much. Should be able to haul freight provide what is needed to make money and help save money also. There is a happy medium to both. Pride in your ride is good to a point.

It seems reasonable to me too, which comes as a surprise. In the eight years Diane and I were with FedEx Custom Critical, their graphics policy seemed strange. They'd pay you to have the FedEx branding on the truck but charge you for the graphics. They'd allow you to put the company graphics on a white box but said almost nothing about how the rest of the truck looked. On some trucks the effect was similar to that of bringing Lady Gaga to Catholic mass.

Now FedEx Custom Critical provides a clean, reasonable and workable incentive for contractors to display the company colors on their trucks. It took them long enough. Who woulda thunk?

Is the $1,000 a year prorated weekly or monthly, or paid in a lump sum once a year?
