Exactly and it appears that some of those live amongst us right here on EO.

Witness was right: you're out of line and owe him an apology for posting a hit and run insult with no provocation.
Same as you did in your comments about my daughter: simply ignore the reaction, pretend it didn't happen, move on, everyone forgets, right?
I gave up expecting the 'moderators' to intervene, [because then they might have to discipline one of their own], but we can and should police ourselves, as the Diva said.
Are you capable of admitting to a mistake, or do you believe your comments were justified?

Hahahaha...........

Shared a PM with another member today (not saying who, that's private, learned my lesson :D) that said since LDB locked down that other thread making it where you couldn't get the last word in, that you would follow me to another thread to keep the rhetoric going. We had you pegged to a T.

And you wonder why you have so many problems with so many members..................

I too am hoping that all works out well for Ted Williams. I don't have the "told ya so" sentiment within my thoughts, I'm just being real skeptical at this time. The guy needs much more help than just being in the "Spotlight" as a "Feel Good Story" for America this week.

I am also for good to come of this. I'm just not sure that taking this guy off the street where he's been living, pimping, and stealing, putting him in a suit is gonna fix him. He says alcoholism put him there, but we all know alcoholics who never end up on the streets. Sadly his story screams of mental illness. And don't think the same TV shows we're watching showing his good story won't be chompping at the bit to report his downfall

I'm saying that the very opportunities that have been given this man, are a gift from God and not all people can recognize that.......

(edit)

Again, it was the RECOGNITION that the OPPORTUNITY came from God......period.

Well put. The END if the story may not be "Godly", but the OPPORTUNITY is... IMO.

I think more of us would get opportunities.. if we just could learn to recognize them. I will admit looking back on my life and going... oops. But, I learned to quit beating myself up, and try to keep my eyes open.

As some know here, I'm moving forward in a personal area now that has opened up... change scares me lol... but living with regrets is worse.

We've all had our share of "oops" moments. I think a big part of the problem is that "man" is always right there to beat you over the head during your oops times, thinking that Christians are supposed to be perfect when the REAL point is that they're NOT perfect but FORGIVEN. That was more about sin than oops but the point is the same, we all "miss" God's voice or instruction along the way....we just pick ourselves up, try to listen closer, and keep moving forward.

I hope God blesses you in a mighty way in this new area that you are moving into.

Thank you Dale.

Diva;

"Many of us here recognize that Christianity isn't a once a year thing and we don't need an extended sermon from a fellow member to remind us."

You are not a target, you are not the problem - others could be.

I will simply say I am consistent in my feelings, and don't take into account who is what. If it is offensive, well I can't apologize and won't because it is my belief that we must do more and demand government does less. If I am not consistent, then the message will get lost so I believe in it very strongly, practice it as I said I do and don't care about who I offend telling about it.

Homeless man with golden voice reunites with mother - thestar.com

This IS a great story! I'm not going to get involved in the religious aspect, or the bickering, or the skeptics... that isn't what this is really about (to me, anyway!)

This is a great story because it is showing the real life opportunities which can exist nowadays because of the internet's exposure. In the past this guy and many others who have become overnight sensations would have not ever had a chance because they didn't have the resources to promote themselves, and probably had no idea how to even go about it. Now all it takes is one person who sees potential in someone to post a youtube! Amazing!

The point isn't whether the guy will be able to live up to anything.. the point is the opportunity that is out there. Sure there may be many more who can use some charity from others and perhaps a hand from God. Sure there are billions of alcoholics who aren't homeless on the streets thanks to the helping hands in their lives. How does that relate to this? This guy has got a GREAT voice, someone recognized it, posted it, and now he's being given opportunities to do with it what he will. Yay! Good for him! Go Ted Williams!

America, the land of opportunity!

Mine is a story of redemption through my rediscovery of God, that I had pushed to the backgound, and an acceptance of a what a 12 Step program had to offer. No TV, no fanfare at all. Just a fervent wish, and lots of prayer, that "this time", it would work.

Although I'm not famous, as Mr. Williams is becoming, to those who love me, I've turned out quite well, thank you. I've heard success defined as "getting up one more time than you fall".
So, in that regard, I believe that everyone who has a breath left in them is redeemable.

This philosophy has served me well, since 12/07/86. So, please don't vilify those folks who keep trying, time after time. You don't know when "it" will be the last time for failure.

Very well said. If you watch the interviews that are available, I think you will find Mr. Jackson saying exactly what you said above. In my opinion from what I have seen thus far, he seems to have has his heart and mind in the right place and exactly where I think it should be, focused on God.

A lot of people claim that they are searching for God. God ain't the one that is lost!
