We won't go to NYC or the surrounding boroughs, but it's not because we are "fraidy cats". It's because to us it's not worth all the stress, headaches, irritation and frustration.

You know the story about the pedicab and cab driver getting into a fist fight in the middle of Broadway, thus stooping traffic. A Fox affiliate caught on camera. Oh that never happens in NYC, right! You need to call Fox News right now and call them all, including Shep liars and tell them the video is bogus! Oh let me guess, it was stagged. Never in NYC!

Do you wish to validate your claim that I'm the problem and explain how so? The problem is the drivers that don't care about their vehicles or anyone elses. No matter where they are from. Would you not agree Deville?

Deville, you obviously were not there on any of the days that these situations occurred. To dispute them and call them bull**** is wrong. YOU WERE NOT THERE!!! In the future be careful who you question as to one's truthfulness, especially when you DONT know what really happened. If I've left you feeling like I just ripped you a new one, I did! Finally, NYC and its people are no more special or important than every other American in every other city, township and crossroads in this country. We are all as important a part of the collective group that makes up this wonderful country of ours. You can come down off of your high horse now!

I'm a weenie but I'm a happy weenie. I have had my bad experiences in NYC and I have no need to repeat them. I may have gone there in the Sprinter but only for a good customer under special circumstances. Paying to get in to a place I don't want to go, makes no sense to me. If ya gotta go there ya gotta go there but I don't. Newark is no problem. You can get back out of there in less than an hour. They have guns and knives there but they don't have the ATTITUDE.

Streakn1 I also have driven nyc alot in the pass 20 years. I could tell alot of storyes that support your travels but I don't have enough time to tell them all and yes nyc is not the gate way to this country it is truly the problem more than the gate way. Just look were most of the problems stem from in this down trun in this country the money people up there. They have a hard attitude and think they are supposed to have what every they want. Maybe this not what they want to hear but maybe they need to look at themselfs and ask way some of us in this country think this way.

I may be just a lil ol country girl and I know Deville is from New York, but I gotta tell you...OVM and I tackle New York freely and I actually like the people there...just like anywhere else. People out on Long Island are just like the neighbors back home...

Sure it's an aggravation to put up with all the traffic and if you're really lucky to plan your trip in the middle of the night to avoid that...it ain't so bad.

And I love that attitude..worked with a bunch of Joisey boys earlier in another life. So you go Deville...we'll come steal your loads anyday...

I have been to NYC a few times. But every time I go there something happens. People are so angry there, it is unbelievable. I am not afraid of NYC, but will only go if the money is right, to make it worthwhile.

Wonder how many lost their trucks because of NYC syndrome? A bad case of the I don't wannas?

I go in with an expectation of total gridlock and MY bad attitude....if I meet nice New Yorkers and luckily I have most of the time..I leave the city upbeat...and conquered once again..

OVM, you are sooooo right. Attitude is everything. Go in expecting the worst and then when the worst doesn't happen it is like a bonus. I haven't driven in LA yet, but the same attitude will work there also.

Driving is what we do for a living...the bad and the good. There is just too much freight in the N/E not to go there...right now it is busy all over so some will say why bother BUT....when it is slow the N/E is the place to be...

I gotta agree with ya Ken. And on my list of rude drivers and impossible traffic snarls,Toronto and Houston are light years ahead (worse) than NYC will ever be.

It's not so much the traffic in NYC that is the problem for us. There are too many road restrictions for trucks in NYC for us to want to deal with, plus the tolls, so we won't go there. Anywhere else in the country is fine.

I have made so much money though out the years because some out of town yahoo is too scared to drive into NYC & informs dispatch that the Fedx terminal in Elizabeth NJ is the closest they will go to NYC. No one ever goes to the one in Newark because they fear getting there thoarts slashed....ok, maybe that is a correct assumption. I don't care I'm heavly insured & go where the freight is.

I saw that story, I was going to post a video link but I dispatch called me out on a recovery run. Another Out a town Yahoo (such as youself) refused to go past Newark Airport again with a Del. for Brooklyn NY.

I'm sure you exatrated everything that happened to you. Also, I will question whom ever & whatever I like. You posted a story on a message board, is everyone just suppossed to drop to there knees & take your word because you said so? Short answer, NO.

Like I said earlier, IF all that did happen you than most likely YOU were the cause & the Prolbems.

As far as my spelling goes, if you are so concered with puncuation than I sugguest you become an English teacher, clearly you can not handle the trucking industry.
