greg i wont ague about negitives of chemicals i diet soda.
i do have a question why do you say diet soda will keep the weight on you. 0 calories 0 sugars, o fat, 0 cholrestrol

I have heard the same thing about diet soda keeping the weight on you, not sure why it does or how it does.

dakota gregs point isnt the first time i heard that eather. i just have not seen any kind of proof diet coke getts you or keeps you fat

juju i never seen caremel tea
as far as chai tea i probly would not like it. i stopped drinking lipton years ago went to a lighter tea tetley and redrose brands
i have tried green tea but wasnt impressed

Chai tastes very little like traditional tea - it's got a creamy, spicy [cinnamon & nutmeg] taste instead.

I've never had chai tea, it sounds delicious
BTW Transporter, I was at Borders Books today and they have a rice cooker cookbook that was chock full of rice cooker recipes.

caffee appearantly has a much nicer cooker than me. they have teflon coating and a steamer basket. i have not cooked anything yet since diet start but will probly tryout cooker today.

Did you start on the nutrisystem?

no i have not been home yet and still need to order it and i will order it. i havent even done those frozen lean quizines yet.
i did get on their web site and i am basically doing the same thing just making my own menues. i am still tweaking my menue plan

3 meals aday
some snacks
meals seperated by 2 hours or more
each meal basically try to keep under 300 cals
total daily calorie intake 1000 upto 1200
one fresh fruit a day

It sounds like you're doing very well, but I'm curious: how did you arrive at a 300 calorie count as appropriate for a meal? I could be wrong, but it doesn't sound like enough for a grown man, and if you feel hungry after those meals, it will be hard to stick to it....:confused:

Being up to 1200 with snacks he'll probably be O.K. drinking lots of water as well. The problem with these diets is that usually they aren't what people will be doing permanently. The goal is reached, the diet ends... A lot of folks gain it back, and more. I do admire the desire to go for it.

I'm down 20lbs. from my high weight 2 years ago. If I truly could make myself give a darn, and I so do know I should, I could be doing even better. I will be attending the next Expo, and when I'm surrounded by nothing but skinny people maybe that'll be the kick in the tuckus I need.

well cheri its mostly my idea i guess. i looked at nutri system on line they have you eat 3 meals and some snacks. i looked at there meals by category break, lunch, dinner of what i seen it was br=190-210 cal lun= 210-225 dinner= 270-290 calories
but you do get to add things like a salad
then their is thier snacks roughly 100 cals each
ovm told me he doesnt count calories just follows thier plan and thinks he is getting around 1300 cals. juju correct me if im wrong.
i do plan on getting on nutri system but i didnt want to get stuck out on road with no food if the freeze dried nutrisytem ran out.
furthermore there are certain specific foods i want in my diet that i was not getting

highway that is another reaso why i am working on my own menue also. so it wont be a diet i am on but a healthy eating life style. but it is a little ruff for me right now. i commited the mortal sin today after a long load. i went grocery shopping tired and really hungry but i was a good boy no cheating:).
now the question have i lost weight yet. i started on 15th this month. i dont know if i lost 1 lb yet i only weight on 1 scale the one at my house and i havent been home yet. but i feel a tiny bit lighter, i have a slight bit more pep in my walk. but could all be in my head

"All in your head" is great, as that's where the battle is won, lol.
BTW: I've never bothered much with the scale, I know how I'm doing by how my clothes fit [no fair buying new ones till they get too big, which they rarely do] and by how I feel.
Keep it up, and you'll feel wonderful!:)

1200-1300 sounds about right..now I've got a tip for you. Buy one of those scales that's to the tenth of a pound and weigh in every morning. When you see it start dipping it's one heck of a motivator. Even though I'm not religious on nutristystem now, if I see the scale tipping in the wrong direction I know not to indulge that day and so far I've been able to maintain my loss.

That and keeping busy..the garden's almost done, but right now I've just done up five quarts of tomatoes, washed the kitchen windows and am washing the bathroom top to bottom in prepping to paint.

Not sure how accurate they are but I always step on the pallet scales at warehouses when making pickups or deliveries.
We started our diet today. I am not much of a breakfast eater so having something for breakfast kinda made me feel nauseated. But overall I haven't felt hungry. I know it's only the first day.
