AMonger, if your desire is to correct all the spelling and grammer here you may want to put it on hold until you retire.
It could become a full time job. It won't pay very well.

Grammar, not grammer.
It's just the first grade stuff to which I object, well, mostly. Didn't we all learn than/then in first freaking grade?

He needs to focus more on the rampant :censoredsign:gotry.

Yea its a good thing I am not getting paid to spell because they would have fired me by now from my business on wheels! I normally let my wife do all of that for me because she payed attention in school. As far as the :censoredsign:gotry we will let who ever posted that explain that from there own experience. I just hate it that I have to leave my wife to take care of my 2 kids, 30 acres, 3 mastiffs, 2 Blue Great Danes with 10 pups we need to sale,There 1,200 Ea. AKC registered if yall know anyone that needs a riding partner. Oh and the two mutt dogs, the two cats, the two pigs, the rabbits, and the chickens. Maybe I should just stay home and let someone else drive the van. If the economy turns around after the first I could go back to doing the home inspections ans the satellite internet installs. I really made better money doing that stuff in less time till the economy went. I really don't like to keep my eggs in one basket. This is really the lowest I have ever been but I expect things to pick up for 2013.

Now that you figured out the many mistakes you made, now what?
Will switching to another solve your problems? Maybe, maybe not. Carrying alot of debt and being in a high maintenance vehicle is a recipe for disaster based on your volunteered information.
Regardless of the carrier, you are one breakdown away from a disaster. Especially if you already dropped $1000 dollars on the credit card for fuel and you are driving a used vehicle.
Probably won't like my answer but I would look to unload that thing and purchase a vehicle that makes sense or drive for someone else to build your reserves up.
You might take a little hit but it is the same advice I would give to a person that is driving and paying monthly for a Mercedes and working for minimum wage.
No need to complicate the simple.
"Cash is king" and you have very little. The good news is, you have time to react. What I wouldn't do is procrastinate and then blame the next carrier because they ran you in the financial ditch.
One of those, "you have been warned".

Many vanners are 1 breakdown from disaster...I don't think many could absorb A 5k breakdown

That is a MAJOR issue, I would get out of the van now and put someone in it in hopes you earn enough to pay for it. If you want to drive move to a ST or TT or find another job all together.

Its too late I am addicted to the road. I wish I could find 3 really good runs a week where I end up at home by the week end. 2,500 paid miles and home. That would be the stuff.

Certainly is a large contributing factor with many that fail. With the added OP information of having a wife and two kids at home, may want to walk away from that van. 26k will be cheap compared to the cost of a divorce. Can't say we haven't seen that here before. Kids at home and expediting is a wicked combo.

Well, your stand up routine is certainly coming along anyway. For the majority of van operators 2500 loaded miles and back home for every two weeks out would be an improvement.
