Maine Republicans blast opponent for World of Warcraft play | Reuters

I've never liked the idea of kids [under 16] playing violent vids, but an adult is presumably capable of separating the fantasy from reality, and has also presumably completed the process of maturation - it's nobody else's business. I guess when some Republicans campaign for liberty and freedom, they don't mean for their opponents...
What next, a negative attack on an opponent's taste in music, or socks?

I wonder if they called him a nerd and knocked his books on the ground.

Government is already trying to BAN books. BOTH parties. Democrats are just a crazy and evil as Republicans. Voting for either is a HUGE mistake. This particular thing is just stupid. I have NO doubt that IF the press looked at stupid things Democrats are doing they would find many things like this. Just look at the Obama administrations foolish and dangerous regulations on truckers. ANY trucker who supports Obama needs their priorities examined.

I guess what is boils down too is that I really don't give a flip what games adults play. I also believe that reporting a non-story like this is just as stupid as talking about the gaming habits of a candidate. Just MORE proof of just how bad the 'free press' has become. I cannot even fathom reporting things like this. There are IMPORTANT issues to be reported and are not even spoken of.

I would never presume that.

Haven't you ever sat at the driver's counter at TA?? :)

Um, no. But I see your point - just reading stuff right here proves it.
Only the 'adults' in question are running for elected office, or in positions of authority - THOSE adults ought to be able to separate fantasy from fact, and work from play.
As the candidate asked: does everyone need to list the games they play, for approval? How about 'Angry Birds' - is that acceptable?
Sheeesh!

Obama is one who has ZERO ability to separate fact from fantasy and work from play. Must be all the damage he did to his brain with his heavy ILLEGAL drug use. You know what they say, "A brain is a terrible thing to waste" and Obama is PROOF of that!
:p

Makes about as much sense as a teacher last week kicking a student out of classroom because she had a Romney shirt on. Obama shirt would of course been ok.

So far, we've only got the student's version [and high school students are honest always - not!] but if it happened, it's much worse. The classroom is no place for political partisanship on either side, and a disagreement between teacher and student is one the student rarely wins, even when they're right.
Be interesting to see if there's any follow up....

Apparently the teacher said she was sorry and said it was a joke. I do believe that was her explanation once the media got a hold of it. No place for this kind of stuff.

Well, yeah, because it's a Democratic school, not a Republican school. :D

As for adults being able to separate fantasy from reality....
Rep. Paul Broun (R-GA) tore into scientists as tools of the devil in a speech at the Liberty Baptist Church Sportsman’s Banquet last month.

“All that stuff I was taught about evolution and embryology and the Big Bang Theory, all that is lies straight from the pit of Hell,” Broun said. “And it’s lies to try to keep me and all the folks who were taught that from understanding that they need a savior.”

According to Broun, the scientific plot was primarily concerned with hiding the true age of the Earth. Broun serves on the House Science Committee, which came under scrutiny recently after another one of its Republican members, Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO), suggested that victims of “legitimate rape” have unnamed biological defenses against pregnancy.

“You see, there are a lot of scientific data that I’ve found out as a scientist that actually show that this is really a young Earth,” he said. “I don’t believe that the Earth’s but about 9,000 years old. I believe it was created in six days as we know them. That’s what the Bible says.”

Is there such a thing as a Republican school?
The Bricker Texas Home School District is one. They have cool school slogans and require guns be carried on school property at all times. Their swim team sucks, tho.

Speaking of our friend LDB, my wife and I spent a very pleasant afternoon with him a week ago when we were down his way. It is always nice to visit with friends while on the road. Leo is doing OKEE DOKEE.

To take this example one scary step further. It is actually Dr. Broun, an M.D. Who is saying that embryology is a lie and he is on the house science committee??? Luckily he is not an obstetrician, his practice was described as "unique" Hmmm.
In addition, Todd Akin on the science committee??? Akins claimed that he got the information regarding "legitimate rapes" from a doctor friend.
BINGO! I think we just found out who the doctor friend is. ;)

The inability to separate fantasy from fact not only persists into adulthood but is unaffected by even the highest level of education and status. :(

Oh, I know. The House Science Committee is kind of a joke, because the people on it don't even know what science actually is. Dr Broun wouldn't know real, actual scientific data if it shot out of the womb and slapped him in the face.

No need to single out the House Science Committee as being a joke. You just could have said that the House is a joke and be correct.

OK, lemme give it a try.

I dunno. Doesn't have quite the same contextual meaning. :D

Maybe not the same contextual meaning but quite accurate. They have not done the job that they have been hired to do in a coon's age.

Here's another one - er, TWO more batsh*t crazy Republicans:

Ark. GOP Calls Candidates' Statements 'Offensive' - ABC News

I'm trying to be bipartisan, honest - I just haven't found any Dems who are as loony tunes as the conservative side is apparently infested with - anyone else find any? I don't mean those whose political ideas you question, I mean those whose grasp of reality is highly questionable, like the 3 listed here.
