So?

What's the big deal?

See Dennis, I can't blame them at all. We are too stupid as a people to see that the terrorist won on the issue of rebuilding too. We should have just rebuilt the WTC as it was, let the insurance companies deal with the rest and that was it. Instead we should not be paying for health care for the NYC city employees, compensating the families or what ever, it opened the door for this crap.

I, for one, am outraged. Outraged, I tell you! How dare they submit an application along with the other more than 265 applications from nonprofits seeking money from the fund. This application submitting nonsense is getting out of control. Everywhere you look people are submitting applications. It's ridiculous. By the May 31, 2003 deadline, more than 38,000 applications were submitted to the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation's Residential Grant Program, which provides assistance to residents who lived downtown on September 11, 2001 and continue to reside in Lower Manhattan, as well as offering financial incentives to new residents who make a two-year commitment to live downtown. By 2006 more than 400 applications were submitted to the LMDC Cultural Enhancement Fund, of which 63 grants totaling more than $24.7 million were handed out to leverage more than $410 million in investments for cultural institutions below Houston Street, including $1.5 million for support the renovation of parts of the main floor and lower level at Federal Hall for the National Archives Vaults of the National Archives and Records Administration, $300,000 to replace the HCAV cooling tower at the New York City Police Museum, and $1.5 million to help support WNYC Radio's relocation of its office and broadcast facilities to 10 Hudson Square in Soho.

This behavior must stop! I urge everyone to boycott application submissions. Never fill out and submit one again! Just say NO!

The developers are probably yanking our chain now because of the outrage for the project in the first place. I don't blame 'em. They're probably sitting around a big board room table trying to figure out ways to have FoxNews and their pundits report on this BS issue and watching a small part of America go nuts about a stupid cultural center. Now they are just playing games because they can, and I think its pretty funny myself.

There is no reason whatsoever for people to get excited about the developers applying for the grant, just like anyone else can. But this is "juicy stuff" and this is all Fox and their pundits will be talking about, making it political.

Have fun!

Uhm, he didn't exclude himself from the statement. What makes you think he doesn't watch cable news?

While cable news in general does indeed make the ignorant quite confident in their ignorance, that's not the same as saying that the educated and informed will somehow magically become confidently ignorant if they watch cable news. See, the ignorant folks, they watch cable news and go, "Yup, yup, yup," while when the informed and educated folks watch cable news, they go, "Wow! And people really buy into that crap? They actually believe it? Wow."

Yup, Yup....and when the "informed and educated" folks can't figure it out on their own, they go HERE to get their opinions handed to them by big George.....so they can drag the quotes over here for all of us to enjoy.

That doesn't even make sense. By definition, the "informed and educated" folks can figure it out on their own without having their opinions handed to them by anyone. That's what "informed and educated" means. So whoever is getting their opinions handed to them by "big George" (whoever that is) is clearly not the people of whom you speak. I'm still trying to figure out what "big George", or mediamatters.org, or their quotes, have to do with anything in this thread, tho. First we have Bob with his off-topic, ad hominem condescending sniping at Witness with "guess you think that makes you better cause you dont watch cable" {snort}{snort}{snort} and now we have you sniping at anybody and everybody with nonsensical references. Is it really that difficult for people to talk about thread subjects in general, without having to make it about personalities in particular?

Oh, I almost forgot. :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

You probably consider yourself among the "informed and educated" so I'm sure you'll be able to figure it out.......and thanks for the vote of confidence at the bottom of your post.

Hey, no problem. You're quite welcome. I'm just glad to know that me and cable news can perform the same function.

Oh, yeah ..... like that is really important ..... always wit da logic ...... sheesh .....

By definition, the "informed and educated" folks can figure it out on their own without having their opinions handed to them by anyone. That's what "informed and educated" means.
Again, with that logic stuff .....

So whoever is getting their opinions handed to them by "big George" (whoever that is) is clearly not the people of whom you speak. I'm still trying to figure out what "big George", or mediamatters.org, or their quotes, have to do with anything in this thread, tho.
Well here's the deal: "Big George" I would assume to be George Soros ..... if I had to guess, he's probably funded MediaMatters to some extent, at some point or another ....

And since Big George has "666" on his noggin he is, literally, the spawn of Satan ... (I know ..... I personally saw it ... sometime after seeing both Big Foot and El Chupacabra) ...... so anyone that might consider that Media Matters might actually report something accurately on occasion is, of course, in league with the Devil .....

Of course, folks on the Right would much rather prefer to get their pablum...... errr ... I mean media and opinions (sorry) ..... funded by "Big Rupert" ...... who, of course, is surrounded by an angelic glow and has a halo over his head at all times (I saw those too .... really, I did .....) ..... and I have it on very good authority Rup has never, ever chopped down any cherry trees ....

However, some on the Right like a little variety ............. and would also prefer to use a bit of this little honey (instead of just sucking up Uncle Rupert's special sauce only):

..... despite the very unfortunate fact that she isn't very sweet ..... and Megyn Kelly, or Kiran Chetry, she ain't ...

Nope, it really ain't ...... hmmm ...... New Years is coming up ..... and I have an idea for a personal resolution in mind ;) ............ hmmm .....

Nah ....

Best question asked in a loooong time!

Goes double for me - we can disagree without making [or taking] it personal, I hope. :)
