Hillary made a mistake and tried to get away with it. Anyone would have done that. That's no comparison to Trumps behavior.
Setting aside the fact that you're playing fast and loose with the word "a" for a moment, Trump's behavior pales in comparison with the lives lost due to Hillary's policies and actions worldwide. Foreign-policy stewardship over the past two decades has been the most cataclysmic for American interests abroad in the entire history of our nation, and Clinton has been in favor of all the biggest mistakes. She hasn't met a country that she doesn't want to bomb, invade, or overthrow.
She cloaks intervention and destruction in what she calls "Responsibility to Protect," or sometimes she refers to it as simply "R2P." It's not quite as harsh sounding as the GOP's slogan of "make the sands glow," but the death and destruction is pretty much the same.
In her book,
Hard Choices, at the heart of which is the ideology of “American exceptionalism,” which, for Hillary, means the right of the U.S. to intervene in other countries at will. She tries to construct a coherent rationale for an interventionist foreign policy and to justify it with reference to her own decisions as Secretary of State. What the book unintentionally ends up doing, though, is it tracks a litany of American foreign policy disasters, all of which she was behind or led the charge with: Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Georgia, Ukraine, and the “Asia pivot” that has dangerously and unnecessarily increased tensions with China.
When the Republicans was trying to impeach Bill it was all about character.
No, but that's what the Democratic PR Machine turned it into. They made is about the evil Republicans' going after this poor, poor presidential man about his private sex life, when in reality it was about perjury, subornation of perjury, and obstruction of justice. We know for a fact that he lied under oath, that he tried to convince Monica to lie under oath, and that he covered it all up. We know that because it was proved beyond all doubt during the impeachment hearings, and because he later admitted to it all. But even knowing that it was all true and proved, not a single Democrat voted guilty during the hearings.
What was lost in all that was the fact that he should have been impeached for either espionage or treason, or both, in facilitating the sale of US technology secrets to China in exchange for campaign contributions, and for Secretary of Commerce Ron Brown, at Hillary’s instruction, literally selling seats on the Chinese trade missions to the Chinese government in exchange for contributions. On top of that, at Hillary's prodding (Congrerssional hearings proved it was her idea in the first place), Bill had a deal in place to turn over the management and ownership of the Port of San Diego, including management operations at Naval Base San Diego, to China. It was a deal that would have allowed Chinese warships to not only port in San Diego, but would have effectively allowed China to have an operational naval base on US soil. But during the empaneled Congressional hearings, it was discovered that many other Democrats as well as a lot of Republicans had also engaged in illegal fund raising, and faced with mutually assured destruction they quietly closed the hearings and exited the stage. Public and media pressure would have forced them back into the limelight if it wasn't for the lightning rod of Monica Lewinski that turned all attention away from foreign espionage and graft to sex. It drew all attention away from what at the time was perhaps the biggest scandal in American history, Chinagate. And that's why a lot of people reading this have no idea what I'm talking about or that any of it occurred.
