It is interesting to note that Trump brought this action to a known-conservative, Florida judge who Trump himself appointed. She did not immediately agree that the action has merit. She asked for additional information from Trump's attorneys. That's not common. Normally, court documents are self-explanatory. Judges do not have to ask the authors what they want or what they meant. But this time, this judge did, which suggests that the legal experts laughing out loud about this document are not without reason to do so.
It is also questionable why Trump brought this to this judge in the first place. Many are suggesting, and it makes sense to me, that the magistrate who issued the search warrant is the fist appropriate one to go to with a request for a special master. As one commentator said, you can't appeal a magistrate's ruling until there is a ruling. Trump seems to be trying to bypass the magistrate as he shops for a sympathetic judge.
I would not be a bit surprised to see Trump's judge of choice throw this out of her court as it never should have been brought there in the first place.
