Tons of outside money and man hours was spent in the recall on the union side. I understand Koch Brothers is one of Cheris oft used talking points but fact is plenty of outside money is spent on both sides.
Koch bros are not "an oft used talking point" for me - I cite their involvement when it is a known fact. In an article in Florida's Palm Beach Post, [Feb, 2012] David Koch said of Walker: " We're helping him, as we should. We've spent a lot of money in Wisconsin. We are going to spend more."
If you wonder [like I did] what constitutes a "lot of money" to David Koch, the president of Americans For Prosperity [one of Koch brothers political groups] Tim Phillips told Politifact that the AFP "spent $10 million on tv ads, direct mail, and 'other expenses' to support reforms made by Walker and the Wi legislature."
I'm still wondering whether some of those unspecified 'other expenses' were for the numerous robocalls people reported receiving in the days prior to the recall election, saying if they signed the petition, they didn't need to vote. Or maybe the people who knocked on doors to tell citizens that they couldn't vote in the recall if they hadn't voted in the election.
Typical election 'dirty tricks', you say, indulged in by both sides? You'd be right about that - but there's only one side that tries to prevent people from voting at all. That is a threat to the very heart of democracy, IMO.
