Durability, Serviceability and Longevity darn big words....Ill be taking all these things into consideration, as far as Suspension, Engine, Trans etc...Im interested in these new Full Auto 10 speeds Allison is supposed to be introducing, not auto shift...I had a leased Penske truck based on M2 106 With the Cummins and Allison combo with the new electronics package, even with a load of 8490 lbs It got better then 10 MPG it actually ran better under load, then empty. It was a great base truck, I just dont want the roll up door, and I want a pair of Air rides, Ill be back in a similar truck until after October, ya cost sucks but its a means to the end and thats my own NEW truck.

I definetly want an engine with a bit more HP then 220 etc, and I like the Cummins it was a very dependable motor although I heard about the Camshaft fiascos, and Issues when the engine platform first came out. More is BETTER, but Im also looking at keeping the Truck Light and fuel effecient, so a mix of Good Better and Best....

ok ,you can put us in this straight truck club. one thing we ask is that you guys in the straights start waiving back at us when your running down the road.:D we wave at every exp. strt. on the freeway. i think it comes from when were riding, you know we are all out doing the same thing and enjoying the lifestyle. besides it would be too hard to have a secret handshake at 60-65 mph.;)

Home is always nice :0). We got a call to run in Laredo but it looks like it fell through. Hopefully we'll start getting some miles. Right now we're running like a solo rather than a team. Kinda discouraging but I'm keeping my head up.

That's not cool. Solo miles for team is pretty nasty.

Its discouraging too. We've been trying to stay positive about it though. I figure come July/August we'll be glad we stuck it out.

dont get discouraged about miles. there are no solo miles or team miles, just miles. miles arent everything. remember, run less make more. its not about just turnin the wheels. we would much rather run 2000 mi a week @ 1.50 than 2500 2 1.30.

dont count on july to be great, ofcourse it does depend on who your carrier is. automotive shuts down in july, so if your carrier does alot of automotive you will see a slow down.

cannedmeat, class 8 refers more to the drive train that to weight rating. you can take a tractor right out from under a trailer put a box on it and register it at 33,000 if you choose. does that turn it into a class 7 truck just because its not hauling over 33k. just sayin !!!!

you all look for the wife and i out there. always glad to meet fellow expediters. were not hard to recognize. we look forward to meeting some of you new folks.
