To all the na-sayers and yea sayers on this thread i'd like to suggest that success in this business is the journey not the destination. Success is a moving target. For the most part the most difficult part of climbing the ladder of success is getting past the fools standing around the bottom. There is an extreme difference between owning 15 trucks leased to a carrier with seven dollar an hour dispatchers (with a little carrot for moving a load)
whom have never even leaned on a truck fender, versus being involved
with an individual with extensive experience in the business who is
intimately involved with the minute to minute activity. Some cannot get past the fact that some of us operate out of our homes, condos or houseboats with way more intensity than can ever be found in a "glass and concrete palace" to insure success of EVERYONE involved.
Also, many of you need to hone your math skills. Most I have spoke with have tunnel vision concerning percentages of revenue split. you stand fast on the "industry standard" 60/40 and will not accept less even when the numbers are put on your plate. Myself i'd much prefer 50% of $1.85 to $2.50 than 60% of $1.40. I,m beginning to question our educational system. Outside the box ain't a bad thing.
