 Some of these discussions would make more sense if people didn't reply to themselves.

Wait. I'm sorry, that's wrong.. you're sitting side by side using the same computer.

Never mind.

blackwood666 and balloonman, you should take your stories to scott in driver relations. if that is not satisfying then you can always move onto a carrier with more business.

I Predict that his thread is about to get real nasty, and I really don't see why. Re read the 1st 2 posts they seemed a little upset at their situations, but they did not say anything wrong.
Then comes Relent breaking down each thought, putting some comments on each. Some of which seemed to be little digs.

I just don't understand why.

Me either...

I "was" leased to that company with the lightning bolt in it's logo.
I was raised right, and my parents taught me that If I had nothing good to say about someone, then I shouldn't say anything at all.
With this being said,..................I've got nothing to say about this company!

I'm now dealing with monies they owe me,.....................I'll be sure and post as to how this situation works out.

Kind of a covert way of saying something by saying nothing - and then trying to justify it as good behavior.

In any event, I'm sorry to hear that it didn't work out for you.

Since you have seen fit to post the above, I've got a couple of questions:

1. Have they failed to settle with you - on time - for any loads you have run and delivered ?

2. As far as escrow, have you complied with all the terms of the lease you signed with them, and if they have not yet returned any of your escrow that you might have coming, are they still within the statutory 45 day limit to do so ?

I think I need to thank these guys for this thread. Times are hard right now and I'm frustrated but I think we become our own worst (worstest??) enemy sometimes. Sitting and thinking about all this stuff just gets the juices flowing and we get mad. I was feeling sorry for myself all last week but this thread put things in perspective for me.

We are owner operators. Owner operators own their own business and if you think you are an employee you are in the wrong business. Why are you depending on your carrier to make your business decisions for you? Most of all, why blame them if they make those decisions in their favor. I don't claim to be smart or wise or anything like that but I prefer to make my own business decisions. If there is no freight, I move to a better spot. If there is no freight at the next location, I made a mistake and I can only blame myself. If my carrier isn't helpful in my decision making process, I need to be somewhere else. I just can't see blaming someone else for my problems. This may sound like pablum to some folks but too many of us need someone to blame.

TJ959, when you write of taking responsibility for your own actions & decisions I hope you realize your talking Heresy to a lot of posters on this site.
